The worst situation is in the southeast and northeast
According to the National System Operator (ONS), reservoir levels in the second week of September dropped across the country.
The sharpest drop was in the south, where reservoir levels are 4.3 percentage points lower than last week, followed by the north, where they dropped 2.6 percentage points. Both sub-markets are down to close to half the storage capacity, or 55.3% and 50.4% respectively.
The southeast/middle-west and northeast are in the worst situation, having dropped 1.5 and 0.8 percentage points. Reservoirs in those sub-markets are down to 32% and 12.1% only.
Across the country reservoir levels dropped because of low rainfall.
