This 10% increase is due to lower flow forecasts
The Price for Settling Differences (PLD) for the week of September 2 – 8 2017 was set at R$ 494,46/MWh in all sub-markets. The price is the same across the country, as the limits for energy exchange between regions have not yet been reached.
This is a 10% increase compared to last week, and is primarily the result of poor flow forecasts and low reservoir levels across the entire National Integrated System (SIN).
The weekly PLD is influenced by hydro plant reservoir levels, forecast natural affluent energy, and estimated use of energy across the country, among other factors.
